White leather couches, funky iron wall art and a mellow yellow glow have replaced the dark, moody purple of this bar-formerly-known-as-Zodiac. The same owners have redone Amber as a groovy, '60s inspired lounge with a live DJ spinning rock, soul or house music depending on the night. Smoking is allowed in this upscale dive bar that attracts an eclectic crowd of local hipsters every night. The cocktails are some of the best in the city – try a mojito, lemon drop or the house specialty – the Amber cocktail. (Smirnoff citrus twist, peach Schnapps, orange juice and 7-Up.)
