In the world premiere of Circo Zero founder Keith Hennessy’s work Delinquent young bodies and voices take flight in a genre-defying performance uniting dance, spoken word and aerial feats. Under the direction of Hennessy, youth affected by the Bay Area juvenile criminal justice system were trained in trapeze work and other circus arts, and traded skills in dance, poetry and music. Incorporating welded aerial sets by Rebecca Anders of The Flaming Lotus Girls (whose fire sculptures draw huge crowds at Burning Man), Delinquent is an extraordinary new theatrical experience offering a new perspective about the criminal justice system and the young people within it.
