ELIXIR (Formerly Jack's Elixir Bar), one of the oldest continually running Saloons in San Francisco, has been restored to its Victorian glory and is celebrating its resurrection this weekend!

Our on-going research has uncovered one of the richest and longest running saloon stories in San Francisco! As early as 1893, Patrick J. McGinnis ran his saloon on this corner and did so right up to Prohibition. Since the end of that dark period of American history, the neighborhood has been whetting its whistle on the corner of 16th and Guerrero under several ownerships.
