| SF Station Blows It Up Chi-Town hit San Francisco last Thursday night with Office and made Popscene dance. With glam infused rock that resembles ELO and Queen (without Mr. Mercury) but still with solid music and great hooks, their infectious sound made everyone around me sing. It was a great show.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Live 105 sold out the Bill Graham Civic once again with a solid lineup of artists like Paramore, Spoon, Angels and Airwaves, Jimmy Eat World and Modest Mouse for their annual Not So Silent Night show last Friday night. Local favorites Maldroid opened the show with slick suits and electronic infused rock beats. The building shaking performance from Paramore, who from the first note had kids crowd surfing and freaking out, was one of the highlights as well as kick ass sets from Jimmy and Spoon.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Seattle's Band of Horses graced the stage at The Fillmore last Friday night for a very sold out show. With great opening sets by singer/songwriter Tyler Ramsey and Aussie’s The Drones (who sounded kind a like The Mars Volta meets Wolfmother) the boys of Band of Horses had their way set for a killer show. Performing songs from their new album Cease to Begin and even playing with an axe tambourine Ben made the crowd swoon.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Australian rockers Silverchair played a very sold-out show at The Independent last Sunday night. It surprised me how dedicated all of the fans were; some showed up as early as 8am to reserve a good spot. Daniel and the boys blew me away performing some amazing metal sounding songs, which is a refreshing change from their usual radio-friendly singles.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals hit Oakland’s Paramount Theater to promote Lifeline their new album to a sold out crowd. As always, with amazing guitar riffs and a beautiful voice, Mr. Harper and the boys drove the crowd to get out of their seats and dance, dance, dance.More | | SF Station Blows It Up The 3rd Annual Icer Air graced AT&T ballpark and brought the mayhem that is the Big Air Ski and Snowboard competition. With lots of things to watch like BMX, FMX, Skate and Vert races plus amazing ski and snowboard jumps as well as the Likes of TJ Schiller, Simon Dumont, Andreas Wiig and the winners Jon Olsson and Travis Rice this was hell of a day and the cherry on top was amazing performances from Talib Kweli, Mos Def and The Dirty Heads.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit returned to Mountain View last Saturday and Sunday for the 21st time with a line-up of greats like Neil Young, Metallica, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tom Waits, My Morning Jacket, Tegan and Sara and Regina Spekter. Even though all the artists did a great job I have to say Tom Waits blew the non-existing roof off the place. He was a bad ass from the fist step he took on the stage to the last note that flew off his guitar.More | | SF Station Blows It Up Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog returned to San Francisco to a packed show at The Independent last Thursday night and threw the rock and pop down. With great melodies and rhythms from their current album We All Belong they drove the crowd to a place where sound turns to matter.More | | SF Station Blows It Up The UK’s Bat for Lashes hit the stage in front of a fullhouse last Thursday night and drove even my feet to move. The vocals were beautiful and told a story and the music made you float. I can’t truly classify these kids but they were a mix of indie, rock, electro, classical just to name a few.More | | SF Station Blows It Up The world's most branded festival returned to the Shoreline last Saturday with some heavy hitters: The Cure, AFI, BRMC, She Wants Revenge, Metric and Kings of Leon, just to name a few. I don’t really know how many people actually came to the show; it looked mellow but all the bands did a great job.More |
