Description

As a composer and bandleader, Ravi Coltrane creates music that is harmonically mysterious, melodically enticing and rhythmically compelling. The second son of John and Alice Coltrane, Ravi was raised in a Los Angeles household filled with a global array of music. He gained invaluable experience working with heavyweights like Elvin Jones, Jack DeJohnette, and McCoy Tyner, emerging as a fully formed artist on the tenor and soprano saxophone on his own albums Mad 6 and In Flux.
