On Tuesday morning I woke up a little extra early, brushed my teeth and put on a Polo shirt. I never wear such Wasp attire, so it should come as some surprise that I wore a collar. Even though the bartender at MoneyShot Mondays was hell bent to get me drunk, I managed my way out of the door before 8:30, and took to the road. I got to City Hall just in time to watch as the first married couples started streaming out of the landmark building, to throngs of cheers, tears and overall merriment.More

Ah, the lovely summer. Birds chirping in my windows wake me at the wee hours, reminding me that the sun is already shining down at 6am. The flood of anxiety to make the most of this blessed time of year is already upon me, and invitations are pouring in to parties, mixers, and the like. There is so much to celebrate. Pride has everyone excited, including every fortune 500 in town, as they all seem to anxiously spend their dividends on drink for the revelers to prove how valuable or expendable incomes really are. But, this summer has a strange looming cloud, as it will sadly mark the end of an era, and the beginning of another.More

With summer seemingly officially upon us, I spent a good part of my weekend dusting off my "clothing normally inappropriate for a San Francisco day" trunk and reminisced over what June has meant in San Francisco for the past half-decade. It normally triggers the resurgence of the Eagle Beer Bust, the return of the ever-stereotypical mesh tank, and the kick-off for the annual Gay Pride celebration, proving that Modesto has proud fags, too. They just like their vacations set almost entirely to a soundtrack of obnoxious house music and Crystal Waters throwbacks. Get ready fags, Pride is heading down the pass.More

I am sure that it wasn't just me, since I after all was one of the many this past weekend, but did anyone else notice that everyone was gone for the holiday? It seems like all the people that I asked about Memorial Weekend blacked out on Friday and came to on Monday. Were the few, the proud, and the nearly sober hibernating for the weekend? Not likely. It seems that everyone took their stimulus package to the four corners of the country sharing the SF gay party with our brethren from across the country.More

I need a coffee to keep up ladies and gents! Well, gents! My tan is kicking and my mind is fried from a long hard weekend of basking in the sun! It was definitely the best weather that we are gonna get, ladies! So, I hope you made the most of it…I know I did. After all, we all know there is nothing better than the merriment that can only provided by those sunrays. I spent the weekend riding a SPF high that I couldn’t come off of until Sunday. Let discuss the highlights, shall we?More

In a matter of speaking, keeping a social profile of quality is simply a manner of keeping up appearances. One must hit the right clubs, the right events, and steer clear of the fodder and riff raff. If one is at the wrong place at that right time, they will forever be burdened with the title of creep, chaser, or wannabe. Now, if someone would have only told a certain little miss more!More

One of my favorite things about living in a city is that feeling that you never can tell what's going to happen next. In New York, you may run into supermodels and famous actors. This never tends to be the case in San Francisco. After all, San Francisco billionaires are more likely to be low key. More often than not though, the folks you run into out and about our crazy little wonderland are twice as fascinating as those Yorkers, and I think that L.A. goes without comparison; L.A. isn’t a city, it’s an experiment.More

So, I know that my loyal readers are constantly looking forward to the musings of my weekly events and the comings and goings of San Francisco’s eccentric gay community. This week, however, there is bigger news brewing than Hillary’s Pennsylvania victory, (will this ever end!) or Ronaldo’s tranny drug scandal. This week, the most amazing, spectacular, life changing event happened in the history of my column: "Gossip Girl" officially claimed its place as the filthiest, most scandalous, most fabulous, most ama(h)zing and just the fucking best show in the gay television empire.More

I hate to break it to you reader(s), but I am afraid that the rain has officially pounded shut my blossoming spring confidence. I opted last week to leave out my solicitous squandering and celebrate the newborn season instead, waxing and waning about the return of the home I so adore. Well, the bubble was shattered by gale force thrusts of frigid air keeping me from any sort of happiness. My eyes have been squinting so long in the rain that my stare is more shrew than ever. I have been around and I have been bitchy, and I have seen some shit you won’t believe.More

After a flurried afternoon of fabric shopping, I retreated toward the Castro in desperate need of two things: my drafty apartment and a safety pin! It was a scorcher, I was nothing short of overjoyed that the evening I had been looking forward to for days was finally upon me. I stripped off the peach fishnet tank that had so dutifully served its days purpose, and fashioned a yard of slate blue chiffon in preparation for the night’s festivities. The Hercules and Love Affair Party had finally arrived, and my toga was devoid of flaw!More
